Networking

So much is said about networking...both business and personal. There are good business networking sites you should know about if you are in business. I like www.linkedin.com. I don't use it often enough, however. Others are Rize, Zero Degrees. I'm sure there are more.

Young people 'network' via social sites like MySpace and Friendstr. I think all of these are good - to a point.

In transitions, your network can be a great advantage. Sometimes just spending an afternoon outreaching to your network will help get you out of a funk. In terms of DYNAMIC transitions, I recommend you have an "inside" network and an "outside"network. Your inside network will be folks you can absolutely trust. Think of them as the Board of Directors for your life. The advice these people give you is thoughtful and tailored to you.

I suggest you review your network today. Take some time to refresh the lists, weed out those you don't contact any longer, and reach out to your Board of Directors. Stay current with them. Discuss what's going on - even if it isn't a transitional time for you. They'll be there when you need them and are a part of your Dynamic Foundation.
