Acres of Diamonds

In 1915 a Baptist minister named Dr. Russell Conwell became very famous because of one lecture, called the Acres of Diamonds lecture, which he gave all over the United States. He used proceeds from that lecture to found Temple University in Philadelphia.

In the lecture, Dr. Conwell says this:
I say you ought to be rich. You have no right to be poor. To live and not be rich is a misfortune and it is doubly a misfortune because your could have been rich just as well as being poor. What does this mean?

You must open your mind to the possibilities...not to get God to GIVE you anything, but to understand what it is to be open to receive. This is an interesting idea to work with.
The Law of Attraction says that we attract that which we give thought to. If we think about lack, failure, illness, we will attract those things. If we think about abundance, success, health, we will attract those things to us just as easily. You can feed the white dog in your mind, or the black dog. The choice is yours.

You are prosperous to the degree that you are experiencing peace, health, harmony, financial success. Many people are afraid to include money in their prosperity work. They say that prosperity is "more than money". I believe this is true, but what's wrong with money? Money has spiritual energy and is a means of exchanging love and service with those about you.

An important part of opening your mind to receive is to deliberately open your mind to the idea that money is spiritual and that money is part of your spiritual heritage. Money gives you freedom and freedom is a necessity for spiritual growth.
